Drugstore brands have upped their game in the past few years. First, the makeup is more pigmented and secondly we have some clean options as well. These E.L.F bite size eyeshadow palettes are proof of that. Today I have 5 of these mini palettes swatched and reviewed for you.
To begin with, I first ordered just one palette and I liked it. So I went ahead and ordered some other colors.
The E.L.F. website says these are “Ultra-pigmented eyeshadow quads that deliver creamy, bendable color in perfect mini compacts. Little compact, big impact. These on-the-go eyeshadow quads feature a combo of matte and shimmer shades to take your smize from day to night and every mood. The luxe formula delivers rich, highly blendable color that stays put and makes a statement—whether that’s minimalist or dramatic.”

Packaging
The eyeshadows are packaged in a plastic container. Each quad has 4 eyeshadows and has a plastic transparent lid which allows you to see the shades inside. In other words, pretty simple packaging, in my opinion.
Formula
I found that the E.L.F. bite size eyeshadow palettes are pigmented. Some mattes are a bit dry, some are really smooth. The shimmer shades are indeed very beautiful. In conclusion most shades are very richly pigmented, and some very few shades are on the drier side. But for the price, these mini palettes are extraordinary. Check the swatches and you will see what I mean.

My Experience
I love some of the color stories here. Each palette has its own color theme going on and the palette name gives you an idea about the color included.
Truffles palette has your basic dark brown taupe shades. This is a very office friendly palette. The shimmer shade is beautiful.
Pumpkin Pie was the first palette I got. It has warm brown and copper toned eyeshadows. All the shades are phenomenal. So richly pigmented. I found the shades soft and blendable and easy to work with. The shimmers look almost foiled. In love with this mini palette. I think this will look great on many beauties.
Carnival Candy caught my eye because of the royal blue shade. It has the perfect amount of shimmer and was easy to use. The matte brown shades are a little powdery but nothing that you can’t work with. I love the look I created, especially because I mostly wear neutral shades.
Berry Bad as the name suggests has berry toned shades. The formula is smooth, blendable and very pigmented. Love the shimmers and the mattes included.
Hot Jalapeno is one beautiful palette. It photographs well and the shimmer is beautiful. The shades blend well together. Especially since I mostly wear neutral shades, I never envisioned myself wearing these colors. But after playing with this and Carnival Candy I am loving adding color to my routine.

The proof is in the pudding. This post has many firsts for me. I am wearing false eyelashes in the first 2 pics, while wearing the Hot Jalapeno palette. It took me a while to wear the falsies and you can tell that I need more practice. Plus another first for me here is, wearing bold eyeshadows.
Pros
- Beautiful color stories
- Pigmented, blendable colors
- All e.l.f. products are Vegan and Cruelty Free
Cons
- Some matte shades are a bit dry. But for the price I do not mind.
