This is my first perfume review on the blog. Describing a perfume is so complicated. Scent is so personal. What smells great to me, might smell just good to you. Perfume smells different on everyone, because of your body chemistry. Today I will share some thoughts on one of the perfumes in my rotation, Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne.
What Sephora Has To Say
“Escape the everyday along the windswept shore where white waves break and the air is fresh with sea salt and spray. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs mingled with the woody earthiness of sage, this fragrance is lively, spirited, and totally joyful.”
The bottle is timeless and elegant. So simple and beautiful.
Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt has notes of Ambrette, Sea Salt and Sage. Top Notes have Ambrette. Middle notes are Sea Salt bring freshness and Base Notes have Sage bring in woody and earthy tones according to the Jo Malone website.
I find Wood Sage and Sea Salt like a seaside holiday. It is very subtle, a little citrusy and fresh with some earthy, musky notes. One thing is sure, it will be very light and non offensive to those around you. You’ll just smell fresh and clean.
On me this is fresh and sweet but the dry down is woody. I love this pleasant smelling light woody, salty, herbal scent. All Jo Malone fragrances can be combined. You can layer and mix more than one fragrance to create your own, unique, individual scent. The Jo Malone website suggests some combinations to add some warmth or freshness to this delightful fragrance.
I have received compliments from friends and family, when I am wearing this. This is my all year round fragrance.
- Light woody, salty, fresh fragrance
- Non offensive
- All the notes together create a comforting and pleasant envelope
- Last about 5-6 hours on my skin, longer on my sweaters. Wish it lasted longer on skin.
