Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Review

Hello beautiful people! According to Coco Chanel, “A girl should be two things, Classy and Fabulous.” I believe Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim light will help you achieve one of the two above mentioned qualities, namely fabulousness.

What Sephora Website has to say about Ambient Lighting Powders:
“[They] are a collection of six universally-flattering finishing powders that recreate the most flattering light. [They] create the perfect illumination for your face with Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Powder. Infused with the innovative Photoluminescent Technology, each finishing powder captures, diffuses, and softens the look of the skin. The micron-size, color-correcting particles refract light and create transparent coverage, filtering out harsh light and refining the appearance of the skin.”

Packaging

Lets just say pure luxe! Hourglass products are packaged in a bronze, brown, reflective compact with rounded edges. The compact itself feels weighty, and that is because it is sturdy and well made. The front of this mirrored compact has the brand name written on it. In short the compact looks sleek and classy.

Formula

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light itself is very finely milled. I found that some brushes tend to pick up a lot of powder. If you use a heavy hand there might be some powder dust. My kabuki brush, used with a light hand over my foundation, does the job perfectly. I love that this has no shimmer and the radiant effect is so subtle. It looks incredible in photographs. There is no problem with flash photography as this has no shimmer.

My Experience

I wish I got Dim Light earlier. I have been using this for years, I still wonder what I did before I discovered this. It blurs your imperfections, smooths away the appearance of uneven skin tones. I use it over my foundation and also use it as my undereye setting powder. You have this magical glow all over your face, that mimics the look of healthy, radiant skin.

Pros
  • A must to use before talking pictures
  • All over setting powder with a luminous natural finish
  • Never cakey or drying
Cons
  • Using with a heavy hand causes wastage of the product
