If you like Hourglass Cosmetics as much as I do, you must know by now that they have come out with a new cream blush, namely the Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick. During the Sephora spring sale, I was lucky enough to grab one before they sold out, almost instantly. I wanted to try one, to see the formula. I figured, if I liked it then I can add a few more colors.
Sephora website says this is “A creamy blush stick that delivers weightless, buildable color for a skin-perfecting finish. This silky cream-to-powder formula blends seamlessly into skin for a natural pop of color, while blurring the look of pores for a flawless finish. With a unique triangular tip and a blend of emollients and antioxidants, it allows for precise, effortless, and smooth application.”
Packaging
The Hourglass Vanish Blush stick is packaged in the brands iconic gold packaging. It is similar in shape to their Vanish foundation stick and highlighter. The container is made out of a lightweight weight plastic, making it light and easy to travel with. This blush stick also has a twist up design. As always Hourglass packaging is beautiful and classy.
Formula
According to the Sephora website this product is “Free of parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mineral oil, sulfates SLS & SLES, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. It is also vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free.” This blush is really intense right out of the tube. But it blends to a natural finish. It is creamy and dries down to a soft matte finish on my medium skin tone. The formula has antioxidants and emollients to moisturize the skin and keep it hydrated.

Shades
Hourglass offers 6 shades.
- Sacred- a coral peach
- Wonder- soft peach
- Devoted- dusty rose
- Loyal- rosewood
- Revel- warm scarlet
- Adore- vibrant berry
I picked up Devoted which is a medium rose shade.

My Experience
Devoted will be flattering on many skin tones. This has a subtle, muted pink/rose tones which will be perfect on fair, medium and deeper skin beauties. I love the stick format is so easy to apply. Just swipe and blend with your fingers. You can also use a brush to blend the blush. This gives you a natural flush of color and you can definitely add on more layers. It almost gives you a blurred effect and does not emphasize the size of the pores or dryness on my skin.
This blush looks really soft, natural and skin like. The formula feels like satin but dries down to a powder finish. These blushes are not glowy. To add glow, I use a highlighter. It does not look cakey, even if you layer it get more color. Lasting power is quite good too. I get 7 hours at least with this. Wear time depends on your skin type, the weather and how much you touch your face. As with all cream product, I do experience some fading by the end of the day.
There are so many cream blushes out there today. But Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick is remarkable. I am hoping Hourglass adds more colors in the future. Next I think they should release a bronzer in this formula. I want to add a few more colors to my collection.
Pros
- Beautiful formula that gives you a soft, natural flush
- Lasts for at least 7 hours on my skin
- Easy to travel with
Cons
- Expensive
