I personally feel that the blush sometimes gets mothballed as a non consequential, minor component of our makeup routine, compared to the more predominant lipsticks and eyeshadows. But blush has been around for centuries. Ancient civilizations use dyes mixed with fat, mulberries, beet juice, crushed strawberries, flower petal extracts to get that healthy flush of color. Cosmetics also had dangerous levels of cancer causing lead in them. Over the years things have changed and now we have the power of science behind us and we are changing for the better. Now back to NARS Madly blush.
Packaging
NARS Madly blush comes in a sleek matte black rubberized compact with the brand name written on the top in thin white lettering. The packaging is a hit or miss with many people. I love it when the product is new, but with more use, the packaging tends to get dirty. Using a makeup wipe to clean it once in a while keeps it looking nice and clean. But it is one added step, you have to do, otherwise the rubberized compact gets sticky.

Formula
NARS blushes come in various finishes to provide a seamless application. They come in so many different shades, some of which are sheer and some of which deliver bright pops of color. The shade we are reviewing today is NARS Madly. It is described as seashell pink and the formula is buttery, pigmented and blends easily. It stays for six to eight hours on my skin. No streaking or caking with NARS Madly.
Shade
To me NARS Madly is a perfect mixture of pink and brown. It is a neutral pinkish brown shade with very subtle shimmer throughout. On my NC37-NC40 skin, the shimmers do not show up. This is very similar to Tarte Exposed blush, however NARS Madly is a little less pink than Tarte's Exposed. On my skin this looks natural and beautiful and literally goes with anything. You just can’t beat that. It’s my everyday blush for years now. If you are looking for a neutral, office friendly blush to give you that sun kissed look, NARS Madly is for you.

Pros
- Natural looking sun kissed look
- The color is a combination of blush and bronzer
- Stays for a long time, without caking or streaking
Cons
- NARS packaging needs to be cleaned frequently
Where to buy
Nars Madly can be found at Sephora. It it retails for $30.
