I bet, some of you like me have a great deal of brown/neutral eyeliners. But what about colored liners? It may feel daunting at first, I understand. So today lets talk about how to wear colored eyeliner. I have a few tips, that have helped me.
There are so many reasons for you to try colored eyeliner. It takes your look to another level instantly. Looks amazing with a nude lipstick, which I love.
Tip No 1
If you are not feeling particularly adventurous, this tip will help you take the leap. First start by lining your eyes with the regular black/brown eyeliner. Then pick a colored eyeliner of your choice and create a thin line on top of your regular black/brown eyeliner. Isn't it simple?
Tip No 2
This second tip is one I have followed multiple times. First step is to line your upper lash line with a colored eyeliner of your choice. Then line your lower lash line with a more traditional black or brown eyeliner. In addition to this you can always switch this around i.e. black/brown on your upper lash line and colored eyeliner on your lower lash line.
Tip No 3
Apply two coats of your favorite mascara. Fill in your brows. This frames your face and is a very important step for me, in my makeup routine. I mostly keep the rest of my eye makeup fairly neutral while wearing colored eyeliner, no matter which method I follow to line my eyes.
Tip No 4
Since I am focusing on my eyes, I use a nude lipstick on my lips. Sometimes a MLBB shade also works perfectly. I prefer a blush that is brownish pink or something that is a combination of blush and bronzer. Blushes that have pink and brown tones work fine while wearing colored eyeliner.
Tip No 5
Remember to relax and just have fun. There is no hard and fast rule. I do recommend you use a primer before your eye makeup. Do whatever you are comfortable with and then switch it up to add freshness to your look. You don't want to be stuck in a makeup rut.
Above I have used a blue eyeliner and kept the rest of the look pretty neutral. I love how it turned out.
