NARS Summer Solstice Bronzer & Highlighter Duo Review

It took me a long time to try bronzers. I wrongly believed that since I am medium skin toned, I would not have any use for it. Thankfully, I no longer think that way and have a few bronzers I enjoy using. When I saw the breathtaking NARS Summer Solstice Bronzer & Highlighter Duo, I had to have it. I mean just look at it!

Sephora website says “This duo includes a Bronzing Powder that creates the perfect sun-washed look, delivering soft, shimmering color for all-over warmth, while the Highlighting Powder delivers next-level luminosity with Seamless Glow Technology.”

Packaging

The palette case is one of the most beautiful case/cover I have seen from NARS. It looks like the sun's rays, or golden shattered glass or fireworks and is simple breathtaking. I struggled to open it at first, but it is gradually getting easier to open it. The NARS Summer Solstice Bronzer & Highlighter Duo is a mirrored compact that holds one highlighter and one bronzer. In fact the packaging looks very similar to the NARS Summer Solstice Eyeshadow Palette.

Formula

The powders are finely milled and impart the perfect skin kissed glow and color to my medium skin tone. It has a sheer finish which is what I prefer in bronzers and highlighters. This is also gluten-free and vegan.

Fragrance

NARS Summer Solstice Bronzer & Highlighter Duo smells like the NARS body oil glow. The smell disappears in some time and does not bother me.

Shades

Shades included in this duo are Ibiza a yellow gold highlighter and Laguna a diffused brown with gold shimmer bronzer.

My Experience

I love the NARS Laguna bronzer. Also I finished my old one, can you believe it? So when this NARS Summer Solstice Bronzer & Highlighter Duo was released, I figured it was a good time to buy a new Laguna bronzer. Plus I wanted to try the highlighter too. And I am happy to report that both products perform fabulously.

Laguna is a perfect bronzer for my medium NC35-40, Chanel 40 Beige skintone. It's not too orange or muddy and just imparts a perfect natural looking contour. Ibiza, the golden highlighter along with Laguna gives me the perfect sheer sun-kissed glow I am looking for.

Since this is a fragranced product, I can see some people being a little wary of it. However, it disappears fast, after application so I am not bothered by it.
