I am a neutral eyeshadow lover at heart. For as long as I have been into makeup, I only bought neutral makeup. I have tons of brown eyeshadow but to me no two are alike. My husband's opinion might differ. This past year I started trying some colored eyeshadow and loved it. I still stick to my neutrals but sometimes I create fun colored looks too. So when I saw all the colorful eyeshadows in this palette I decided to pick up the Pat McGrath Labs Mthrshp Mega Celestial Odyssey Eyeshadow Palette.
By the way this is my first Pat McGrath Labs Palette. So I was absolutely thrilled to create looks with this palette.

Packaging Of The Pat McGrath Labs Mthrshp Mega Celestial Odyssey Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has 18 eyeshadow shades. The eyeshadows come in 5 finishes sateen shimmer, 24K duochrome sparkle, foiled metallic, velvet matte and iridescent sparkle. The shades are packaged in a beautiful cardboard box with a large mirror. I love that the palette stays open and doesn't fall backwards with the help of two ribbon attachments at both corners. It's the small details. I also love the artwork on the outer box and the cover of the palette. The eyeshadows are set in black lacquered plastic.

Formula Of The Pat McGrath Labs Mthrshp Mega Celestial Odyssey Eyeshadow Palette
The eyeshadows come in 5 finishes sateen shimmer, 24K duochrome sparkle, foiled metallic, velvet matte and iridescent sparkle. The shades are highly pigmented and very smooth. Even the shimmers swatched beautifully. The formula is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates SLS & SLES. These pressed powder eyeshadows are blendable, buildable and did I mention pigmented.

My Experience
I have created a few looks with this palette. Everyday looks to some playful, colorful looks. Even though you can use these eyeshadows wet, I have only used these eyeshadows dry. The payoff is phenomenal even when you use them dry. Pat McGrath is the queen of color and shine. The regular Mothership Palettes have 10 shades and cost $125. I was so happy that I could try the Holiday palette which has 18 shades and is more reasonably priced. The regular mothership palettes have more product though.
This being my first Pat McGrath palette, I did not know what to expect. I loved playing with all the colors. This is a great palette for someone who wants to try her formula. I do not have many colored eyeshadows in my collection, so it made perfect sense for me to buy this palette.

One thing to note is that when my palette first arrived, the green shade Citrine Envy was completely shattered. However I was lucky enough to get the palette exchanged at my local Sephora.
I do wish they had included more transition matte shades. Out of the 4 matte shades, two shades are very similar. They blend beautifully. Overall I love the variety of shades this palette offers. I experienced some fallout with the shimmer shades, but that's to be expected. However the fallout was not as bad as I expected it to be.
I am really glad I purchased this beautiful palette.
