Hourglass Mini Ambient Lighting Edit - Sculpture Unlocked

Hourglass Mini Ambient Lighting Edit Sculpture Unlocked Palette Review

Some palettes, just take your breath away! After I received the Hourglass Mini Ambient Edit Sculpture Unlocked Palette, I would open it, admire it and keep it back again. Then after a while I had the courage to start using it. Does it happen to you too? Or do you start using new, beautiful palettes, makeup etc. as soon as you get them.

Sephora says it is “A cult-favorite returns in a curated quad, with four shades to layer and blend for multidimensional radiance. The bestselling palette features an edited selection of Ambient Finishing Powder, Blush, Bronzer, and Metallic Strobe Powder. All four powders are formulated with Photoluminescent Technology that smooths and evens out your skin.”

Packaging

The packaging is gorgeous. The palette is made of a type of lightweight plastic, with a reflective gold color. It has geometric facets pattern on the lid and the overall look and feel is very luxurious. Hourglass had indeed done an amazing job with the packaging.

Formula

I found no difference between the mini palette powders and the regular sized blush and powder compacts. The powders are exceptional. Very smooth and bendable with buildable pigmentation.

Shades

The Hourglass Mini Ambient Lighting Palette has four beautiful shades.

Ambient Finishing Powder in Soft Light (top left) is a setting powder with yellow tones, to be used all over your face. It brightens my medium skin tone and sets my makeup beautifully.

Bronzer in Golden Bronze Light (top right) is a stunning golden bronze shade with subtle shimmer. I love using this on my NC37- 40, Chanel 40 Beige skin tone. The shimmer is very subtle, don't picture chunky glitter. It just gives you a perfect sun-kissed glow.

Blush in Mood Flush (bottom left) is a warm mauve pink shade that I suspect will be flattering on many skin tones. It has no shimmer and looks very natural on my skin.

Metallic Strobe Powder in Champagne Strobe Light is a gorgeous champagne highlighter with some golden tones.

My Experience

I love Hourglass Ambient blushes and powders and this palette is no different. The powder formulation is incredible. This is such a popular mini palette because it has a little bit of everything. Also it is so compact and easy to travel with. The colors are beautiful on medium tan skin tones. Deeper skin toned beauties can use the bronzer as an all over powder. The blush will suit most skin tones. The blush, highlighter and bronzer can be easily built up to create a beautiful look.

Pros

  • Perfect palette for travel
  • Incredible formula
  • No breakouts

Cons

  • Cannot think of any
