Exciting NARS Air Matte Lip Color Review

By now I am sure you can tell, I am addicted to lipstick. I truly love lipstick and enjoy this step in my makeup application process. So today I have the NARS Air Matte Lip Color Review for you.

I am late to the party. You have probably seen swatches of NARS Air Matte Lip Color all over social media. So better late than never.

Ulta website says that “NARS Air Matte Lip Color is an innovative new formula that glides seamlessly onto lips for airy, longwear matte lip color with a comfortable feel. Daringly diffused. Seductively soft. A matte that moves with you. Cushiony, air-kissed pigments float featherweight color onto lips, while Color Diffusion Complex creates a soft-focus finish with a creamy feel.”

Packaging

The product comes in a plastic tube with a black screw top lid and the name of the brand on the outside of the tube. The color of the tube gives you an idea of the color of the product inside. It does not match the color of the lipstick exactly, but is in the same color family, if that makes sense. The applicator has an angled tip.

Formula

I would say NARS Air Matte Lip Color has a whipped cream consistency.

NARS Air Matte Lip Color in Total Domination and Shag

My Experience

I love this formula. The two colors I have are Shag and Total Domination. Shag is described as a Rosy Nude and that is how the color looks on me. For reference, I wear Chanel 40 Beige Foundation and have been color matched to NC37- 40 in MAC. Total Domination is a bright coral red on me. More red, less coral. I get about 4 hours of wear with these, provided I am not eating or drinking during that time.

I find this formula to be very lightweight and comfortable. It has a soft matte, diffused look. It does not feel dry on my lips because it does not set completely. But that's what makes it more comfortable to me. Matte lipsticks after a few hours of wear start feeling dry, but not this . There is some transfer after eating and drinking, but I don't mind touching it up after eating or drinking.

If you want to wear these under a mask, you can blot the lipstick after applying and use a little translucent powder on top and you are good to go. The colors are beautiful and I want to add more to my collection. I hope NARS adds more colors. But from what I hear, this is a limited edition product. So glad I got one nude and one bold color from this range.
