I think most people now know about the importance of wearing sunscreen. Namely, it reduces the risk of skin cancer, provides protection against sun burns. Sunscreen also helps with delaying early signs of aging like wrinkles & fine lines. For these reasons and more I have always included sunscreens in my skincare routine. This year I tried Supergoop and liked a few items I tried form them. In today's post I will review Supergoop Unseen, Glowscreen and Play Sunscreen for you.
Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++
This is an invisible, weightless and scentless primer with SPF 40. It goes on smooth and has the feel of a silicone pore filling primer. This does not give me a white cast and performs fabulously under makeup. It looks like a clear gel and I love that it's sunscreen and primer all rolled into one product. I have worn it on walks, biking and just doing outdoorsy stuff, and it does not sting my eyes, even if I get sweaty. However I cannot say anything about how it performs in the pool, as I have not worn it to the pool. Glamglow Unseen did not break me out.
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is the Allure 2019 Best of Beauty Award Winner.
Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40
Where do I even begin? I love glowscreen, ever since I discovered it. According to Sephora this is “A hydrating, makeup-gripping primer with SPF 40 and blue-light protection that has a pearlescent finish to leave skin luminous with a instant glow.” This is a glowy sunscreen. Also it does not have glitter in it. It just imparts a dewy finish and I love the look.
I wear it by itself sometimes and sometimes under makeup. Both these methods work well for me. Some people experienced piling with this, but I did not experience any pilling with Glowscreen. If you have oily skin, this might not work for you. I have combination skin and even though I love the glowy/dewy look, with this sunscreen I have to blot my face after a few hours of wear and I'm fine.
If you find this too shiny, you can add it with your regular sunscreen. I love the texture and feel of Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen and mostly importantly the subtle glow it gives my medium NC35- 40, Chanel Beige 40 skin tone.
Supergoop PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50
Sephora says this is “A fast-absorbing, non-greasy, water- and sweat-resistant, reef-safe, and broad-spectrum SPF 50 lotion for the face and body.” I use this as a body and face sunscreen but I like using this as a body sunscreen more. Actually I have used this on my kids too and they quite like it. I mostly use Unseen or Glowscreen on my face, and use Supergoop Play Everyday Lotion SPF50 as a body sunscreen. It leaves no white cast and does not irritate my skin.
I find this to be a bit more oily/shiny than Supergoop Unseen and Glowscreen. Therefore someone with dry skin would absolutely love this. The Play Everyday Lotion has a fresh lemon fragrance.
After loving these offerings from Supergoop I want to try other items from their range. Especially the (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder SPF 35 PA+++.
I love all three for different reasons. Supergoop Unseen has a silicone product feel, without any glow or dewiness. Perfect to wear as a primer, if you are going to be using glowy makeup products. Supergoop Glowscreen is the one I reach for most when I want a glowy look. Perfect to dab a little over makeup or use as a dewy base under makeup. I enjoy using it on its own too. I prefer to use Supergoop Play as a body sunscreen than a face sunscreen.
