Highlighters give your skin an enhanced glow and make your cheek bones more prominent. Who doesn't want that? I tried the Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighter Balm at Sephora and got the shade Cava. Let's see how it performs.
The Sephora website says that this is “A sheer, lightweight moisturizing highlighter made for daytime wear that visibly illuminates your skin for a dewy glow with zero sparkle.”

Packaging Of The Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm
The product comes in a twist up tube. Additionally I love the minimalistic plastic cream colored packaging. I find this to be very travel friendly.
Formula Of The Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm
The Sephora website says this is “Packed with squalane and olive fruit oil, this formula locks in moisture and nourishes skin to visibly enhance your natural glow. The moisture-replenishing, vitamin-rich base protects the skin barrier for a dewy, glowing look that lasts beyond makeup.”

Firstly Plant-Based Squalane locks in hydration, conditions skin, and supports elasticity. Secondly Olive Fruit Oil nourishes skin with monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E. Last but not the least Phytosterol and Amino Acid Blend minimizes moisture loss and supports a healthy skin barrier. Also this product is vegan, cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging.
Shades Of The Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm

- Citrine – soft gold

My Experience
The Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm works so well for no-makeup makeup looks. It is subtle and lightweight. I picked Cava. Actually I swatched Bounce and Cava and loved both. Citrine was not released when I purchased Cava.
What I like most about this is that it will give you a natural, subtle dewy glow. Think of this as a balmy highlighter. After I apply this to the highpoints on my face, I blend with my fingers and that is enough. I also did not find it too sticky like some other balm highlighters. Moreover, I have sensitive skin and this did not break me out. I am not a fan of shimmery, sparkly highlighters. This will give you a beautiful sheen.
I get 5 hours after which I have to reapply. I wish it stayed longer. But I also have combination skin, so that could be the reason why I get only about 5 hours from the Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm. Still, I love it for the final polished look I get!

Pros
- Subtle, lightweight formula
- Will give you a natural dewy look
- Vegan and cruelty-free
Cons
- If you are looking for a more intense glow, this might underwhelm you
- It may not be suitable for someone with oily skin
- I get about 5 hours, after which I have to reapply
