I go through phases where sometimes I love powder blushes and at other times I prefer cream blushes. I got this NARS Air Matte Sheer Cream Blush in the shade Scandalous a while back. But hadn't gotten around to swatching it. The color in the pot screams fall. It's getting cooler, feels like fall, so I thought it would be a good time to start wearing this blush.
Sephora website says this is “A unique mousse blush that transforms into a velvety powder for a weightless, cloud-like wash of cheek color. Each sheer, matte shade builds to desired effect. Discover a perfectly diffused, soft-touch blush with a rush of color.”

The NARS Air Matte Blushes are packaged in a plastic pot. The lid is made out of a rubberized plastic material with the name of the brand on it. The back of the pot has a sticker stating the shade name.
Formula Of The NARS Air Matte Sheer Cream Blush
The product highlights are Jojoba Gel, Passionfruit Oil and Color Diffusion Complex. Jojoba Oil smooths pigment evenly over skin. Passionfruit Oil adds a boost of antioxidants. And last but not least Color Diffusion Complex provides a sheer, cloud-like wash of color to cheeks. This formulas is also gluten free.
My Experience
NARS Air Matte Sheer Cream Blush In Scandalous is a dark burgundy shade with a matte finish. The shade looks bold in the pot but blends into a sheer wash of color. It has a soft diffused look. This cream blush transforms into a powder on your skin once it dries. I have used this over foundation, bare skin and just sunscreen. I find that it performs best on my bare skin and over sunscreen. However it did not do well over makeup. It just picked up my foundation and was not buildable over my foundation.
I am all for the no makeup look and love to use it on bare skin and over sunscreen, for a sheer wash of color. Since the product is not easily buildable over makeup, I am happy that I tried a darker shade from the range. Try this blush if you prefer minimalistic, no-makeup looks.
I always try my cream blushes on my lips too. And that is what I did with this blush. NARS Air Matte Sheer Cream Blush in the shade Scandalous feels nice and gives my lips a soft wash of color. Additionally I have combination skin and I get about 6 hours with this blush.
In the above photo I am wearing NARS Scandalous over a glowy sunscreen. I am also wearing it on my lips. This is my almost no makeup look. However, my kids say that this is not a no makeup look as they can tell I am wearing lipstick and mascara. But in my opinion, if I am not wearing foundation and 2-3 shades of eyeshadow, it is a no makeup look for me. The sunscreen I am wearing is , my favorite Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen.
